Medical insurance will be included in the total price to cover the students during the official period of the program. This is not optional; every ILASO participant will be covered by the ILASO medical insurance.

ILASO takes into consideration everything related to the student’s health and safety in the planning of the program and for its duration. We understand that safety issues are of utmost importance. Please know that the ILASO staff based in the U.S. will be in contact with staff members located in Costa Rica, and all staff members are committed to the student’s well-being during their study abroad experience.

ILASO supplies pre-departure orientation sessions not only in person but also by phone to facilitate planning the trip. The staff additionally prepares an orientation to welcome new students to Costa Rica. ILASO takes into consideration all the safety and cultural expectations, such as rules for daily activities the specific country where they will have their study abroad experience. The ILASO staff has extensive experience to advise, help and give support to the students at any time. They will keep in touch with the local U.S. Embassy and will be ready to take action in any situation.
