LANGUAGE LEVEL |
Advanced
level. Prior to enrolling in courses at
this language level, students must have
completed or tested out of a minimum of
four semesters (or six quarters) of college-level
Spanish at their home university in the
U.S. |
OVERVIEW |
Provide
the student with theoretic tools that facilitate
the comprehension of sounds that prove the
most difficult for acquisition. This class
will work to bring the student closer to
understanding Costa Rican oral expression
through listening practices.
At the end of the course the students will
be able to handle assignments such as:
• Explain the theoretic principals
that differentiate phonetics and
phonology.
• Distinguish articulation of vowels
and consonants of Spanish.
• Describe and characterize
• Recognize within Costa Rican oral
expression, distinguishable accents. |
